Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Patrick C — 22 Feb 2009
A good entertaining Spike Lee film. Norton, Pepper, Hoffman, Cox and Dawson delivered good solid performances. Lee's views came through very clear and as poignant as ever.
The characters had so much depth and dimension. I liked how I formed an opinion of a character and the film would make me be critical of that judgment. This was especially shown through Barry Peppers terrific performance.
Although some of the dialogue felt forced even by these great actors. The long fuck you rant by Norton was outstanding and the most memorable moment of the film.
An essential film for Lee fans and people with a strong stance on America and 911.
