Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Santiago V — 24 Mar 2009
Spike Lee's touching and poignant homage to post-9/11 NYC. Outstanding performances by Ed Norton, Rosario Dawson and Barry Pepper (his best performance to date). Lee's slow, languishing shots reflect his (and New York's) then-fresh wounds after the terrorist attacks on his beloved city and addresses the confusion and hatred toward foreigners (and locals) as a result.
Very underrated film.
