Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Darren B — 31 May 2009
Brilliant. strong performances with strong characters.
It's an interesting character piece to watch as this man lives his last hours in the regular world before going to prison.
Some parts are all too reminiscent of Fight Club, but Edward Norton's ability to rise above some of his popular material gives an even stronger performance..
My favorite scene is his monologue into the mirror, where he, in his mind, blames all his faults on everyone else in the city, refusing to accept responsibility... on then to tell himself to shut the fuck up.
-it is a different type of scene, something that belongs more in a play, but works exceptionally well here.
