Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Adam W — 12 Jan 2010
A fascinating movie about the choices 3 people have made, will make, their consequenses, and their loyalties. Spike Lee, being the opinionated man he his, also adds a subtext that deals openly with the aftermath of 9/11, which includes the film's most memorable scene- Edward Norton's diatribe into the bathroom mirror that lasts minutes and contains quite a lot of expletives in which he attacks everyone in New York City.
All actors are magnificent and the direction is subtle.
A restrained, underrated piece of cinema. Highly recommended.
