Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Mike T — 01 Feb 2010
I saw this again online and it's good but not great...A lot of ppl have said this is one of Lee's best works since Malcolm X and maybe so...25th Hour might be a somewhat personal film for Lee as the film story takes place after the 9/11 attacks.
..Ed Norton plays as Monty Brogan who is going to jail for selling big quantities of drugs...but the film's twist is Monty gets one more day of freedom saying goodbye to his Girlfriend Naturalle played by Rosario Dawson, and his friends and his dad played by Brian Cox.
..there's another story in this involved in 25th Hour in which the Philip Seymour Hoffman's character and Anna Paquin have a teacher/student relationship but I thought their little enocunter wasn't need for the film.
..overall good work from the great filmmaker Spike Lee.
