Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Mike M — 20 Mar 2010
Uncompromising storytelling, as only Spike Lee (Inside Man) can offer. '25th Hour' is a grandiose, visually stunning, sucker punch of character study and statement. It's impressive that such an ambitious picture succeeds in everything it sets out to do. Set in 2002 in New York City, 25th Hour also address' post 9/11 anxieties, emoting the mourning of a city that has seemingly lost its soul, albeit, briefly. '25th Hour' is a masterpiece of storytelling, and will likely enrapture you from its first frame to its last.
Highly recommended.
