Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Alex R — 08 Aug 2010
For me, this movie's greatest achievement is the mood it creates. Watching it, I felt the resigned sadness of Monty's countdown till it's all over. Of course the film is helped by a wonderful cast.
Next to Primal Fear, this is my favorite Norton performance. And the supporting characters all have equal attention paid to their stories and lives. A very surprising entry in the Spike Lee canon, which makes it even better and adds another dimension to the director.
