Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Katherine P — 02 Jun 2011
Lee's characteristic visual style combined with some provocative material make Hour a mature and poignant drama. Unfortunately, Lee could use a friend to tell him when to stop and where to begin as his message is lost in the unnecessarily complicated storyline.
Ventures at being uplifting, but it mostly just leaves the audience feeling like they have no choice but to perservere through tough times - a pessimistic message that overshadows Lee's touching ode to New York City.
