Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Andy P — 16 Feb 2012
This film follows a man by the name of Monty Brogan and details his last day before he is imprisoned. The story highlights his family and friends fears and insecurities as the day goes on. Edward Norton should have been nominated for this performance which I believe is his best work since American History X.
The entire cast is impressive. Berry Pepper is outstanding as the narcissistic best friend. Philip Seymour Hoffman is also impressive as he plays the insecure rich friend who has been distant throughout the years.
This isn't your typical Spike Lee Joint...I believe it is his finest work to date. A highly underrated film. 5 stars. Please feel free to comment on what you thought of the film. Thank you.
