Review of 24 Hour Party People (2002) by Ryoki F — 01 Feb 2008
Hysterically funny, sad, and clever as all get out with its postmodern feel, 24 Hour Party People covers music I love respectfully and laughs at the need for historical accuracy. Coogan is a revelation as our narrator/main character - a device that would blow up in less able hands that him and the talented Winterbottom.
The casting of the real characters is also so good that you can pretend it's all real. Wonderful film worth multiple viewings.
