Review of 24 Hour Party People (2002) by Manisha D — 26 May 2008
While I did enjoy most of this film, I felt that at times the filmmakers sacrificed telling the true story in order to deliver a sensationalized "movie version" of how things were. I think the story at hand was interesting enough and it didn't need to be embellished upon (i.
E. implying the "riot" at Derby Hall was caused by a presence of Nationalist Alliance members when that wasn't factually true, etc). Winterbottom, I love. Coogan, not so much.
