Review of 2:37 (2006) by Kris M — 01 Aug 2008
I can very well see the comparisons to Elephant since the style is very similar. But to me Elephant was a movie about life being seemingly meaningless and ending in a meaningless way. 2:37 is about problems, deep personal problems and it portrayed them very well.
The actors were natural and it was easy to relate. But I suppose my reaction to this wouldn't have been so strong if the rape and suicide scenes hadn't been so graphic as they were. Seeing them made me physically ache which is always an achievement when it comes to movies.
