Review of 2:22 (2017) by Gábor D — 11 Apr 2018
So here's the thing with 2:22, I wanted to like it, I really did but that's just not possible, the film itself is convoluted not in a good way, mind you, the premise is good but badly executed.
The acting was sub-par at best, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it to some extent but at the end of the day I have to call it for what it is a confused love story badly merged with Sci-fi, the writing is where the film flops badly, because to pull off such a bizarre combination you need some brilliant piece of writing and this screenplay can't be any further than that.
For what it worth, I actually liked the awkward love story and that's probably the only thing that this film has going for it, but yet again I'm a sucker for love stories so I could be wrong, anyway the film lacks depth and that's why it just doesn't work.
