Review of 22 Jump Street (2014) by Richard F — 01 Mar 2015
Despite the borderline annoying self-referential sequel jokes, I did enjoy this as much as the first. The comedy was still pretty strong, although perhaps not quite as much, the plot was entertaining and the relationships strong.
This franchise has done a lot to present an emotional male friendship and only slightly milk the 'bromance' trope: it makes it the focus in a believable and lovely way and it lifts the film above what it might be were it not for Hill and Tatum.
