Review of 211 (2018) by Anthony B — 18 Jul 2018
Just when you thought Nicolas Cage was giving a shit again, 211 had to happen, if only to remind us that some actors have integrity, but all actors have bills to pay. I am thoroughly disappointed by 211 because the trailer didn't look awful and Cage has been on a role lately, taking on more challenging and complex projects like the underrated Looking Glass, critically-acclaimed Mandy, and Mom and Dad, a film which also disappointed me, but I still respected.
This "gritty action drama" is worthless and only slightly more engaging than Cage's other recent direct-to-video stinker Vengeance: A Love Story, which, if you haven't seen it, the biggest insult I can think of for 211 is comparing it to Vengeance.
.. A Love Story. Also, Weston Cage aka Cage Jr. plays a bad guy and... No, just no. Do not be in movies, Weston. After your "performance" in this, it's bad enough you exist in real life.
