Review of 21 Jump Street (2012) by Ian G — 16 Dec 2014
In any other world one would have thought 21 Jump Street would have been a big mistake, but against all odds this Chris Miller and Phil Lord film, the same filmmakers who worked their wonders on what should have been another bizzare film Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street ended up being a lot of fun and unconventional action comedy featuring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.
The pop culture references are great, and the addition of the breaking the 4th wall commentary regarding certain elements (commenting which explosions should have worked certain ways, the inclusion of the Johnny Depp cameo) make this film a fun ride and fresh as opposed to a lot of remakes of recent ilk.
A lot of fun and a good change of pace.
