Review of 21 Jump Street (2012) by Mike J — 17 May 2015
A favorite comedy of mine, 21 Jump Street takes the show, 21 Jump Street, a dark drama show that used to be on Fox, and turns it into this really crazy comedy starring Jonah Hill as Schmidt and Channing Tatum as Jenko.
Former high school enemies, the duo reunite years later as they join a police force known as Jump Street, and they are sent to high school again on a top secret mission to investigate a drug mystery. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller really know their comedy, as seen in The LEGO Movie and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, but when these two goofballs are given full-out R-rated freedom, they know what to do.
And what happens is hilarious. Anyways, 21 Jump Street is a laugh out loud movie with some really clever jokes and memorable characters/lines.
