Review of 21 Grams (2003) by Martina D — 10 Jul 2009
Good film. The pieces of the story fit together nicely and the direction is astounding. Everyone gives amazingly excellent performances, it would be unfair to single any one out. Sean Penn is remarkably refined and absolutely captivating, Benicio Del Toro plays the most complex character and manages to effortlessly provoke sympathy with the merest gaze despite his characters actions, and Naomi Watts portrays a spectrum of emotions believably.
It is to the directors credit that although it can be difficult to place where you are in the story at times, he still manages to hold your attention and within time everything soon comes into focus. Worth a watch.
