Review of 21 Grams (2003) by David K — 27 Mar 2010
One of the most gripping, brilliantly acted pieces of moving art I've seen. The subject is tough, to put it mildly, and the semi-stylized execution of storytelling can sometimes seem a bit superfluous. However, I feel that it serves to strengthen the viewer's investment in what happens rather than distracting us.
If you're into plot and complete devotion to character work, check out this film. All three leads are superb but I have to give special attention to Naomi Watts as a grieving mother. When you're ready, check out this film.
