Review of 21 Grams (2003) by Lindsey L — 04 Jan 2011
One of the finest examples of hyperlink cinema, "21 grams" is a poetic experience that discusses life, death, expectations and human psychology beyond the confines of the cinematic genre. 3 lives intertwined by a car accident makes for Alejandro González Iñárritu's next after the path breaking "Amores Peros" . He follows a similar method of storytelling that is meant only for people who consider cinema as something more than just a medium for entertainment.
Naomi Watts, Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn pitch in unrestrained performances and blow the screen apart by their scorching presence.
A cult classic of our times, "21 Grams" deserves more than a single watch.
