Review of 21 Grams (2003) by Daniel T — 10 Jan 2014
Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu's drug fueled drama 21 Grams (2003) bears strong resemblance to that of Bonnie Hunt's romantic comedy Return to Me (2000). Meaning, if you take away all the alcohol, blow, cigarettes, language, sex, and violence, the plot is exactly the same.
The protagonist, who is in dire need for a heart transplant, receives the heart of his soon-to-be love interest's previously deceased significant other. After which, they exchange an awkward moment but then decide fate brought them together.
Return to Me is better.
