Review of 21 Grams (2003) by Tom T — 09 Oct 2010
A good film full of great performances. Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, Benicio Del Toro, need I say anymore about the acting talent within this film. The story is cut up and shown in chronological order and focuses on three characters.
Penn's character is suffering from ill health, Watts plays a typical house mother, and Benicio plays an ex-con trying to turn his life around. These three characters get on with their average and ordinary daily lives until one incident changes everything and links them together.
Penn and Del Toro are exceptional as ever, but for me the stand out star of the film is Naomi Watts as she gives an awesome and very convincing performance. 21 Grams is a very good film that focuses on the impact that death has on different people, whether it be because they are dying or have lost a loved one.
Its a gripping and hard hitting drama that will leave you thinking at the end.
