Review of 21 (2008) by Luke P — 29 Aug 2010
Naive but bright undergrad gets sucked into a tempting world of card-counting and learns a hard lesson in life. I't an entertaining caper where, whatever you think of the execution, the circumstances afford us enough fantasy to keep us intrigued.
Apparently based in fact, the idea that one can count cards, beat the house and become extremely rich is extremely beguiling- especially if casinos are all a bit of a mystery to you. Spacey puts in a good show but it's no classic.
