Annette Bening and the young actor who portrays the son give solid performances. The others are interesting but too quirky. I ended up not liking the storyline device of narration & quotes from books.
The story Itself was OK ... a slice of societal rebellion of that time. Not coincidence it's timely in the age of Trump.
