[Towing the line betwee 31/2 and 4 stars]. Stellar performances from Tony Leung, Gong Li, Ziyi Zhang and Faye Wong and gorgeous cinematography. Fragmented, surreal, beautiful - a mediation on lust,love, memory and the ways we prevent ourselves from living a real life of substance and depth.
If there is a romantic lurking inside you, see this film - but don't expect an easy time of it. Of note: I personally would have chosen enjoyed the alternate ending over the current.
