A very interesting film about a chinese writer in the 60s. At first glance it would seem like a sci fi flick, however its really about a writer and his encounters with various women who he knew in the past or lived with and how he deals with love and intimacy.
These women then become personified in his sci fi work which gives the movie its name. *Spoiler* Interesting note, 2047, which is another story written within the movie deals with longing for something he eventually never has.
This relates to his relationship with his assistant. Very interesting movie if you have some time to spare.
