Review of 2046 (2004) by Simon D — 05 Mar 2008
I watched it again and enjoyed it even better. It is beautifully made and full of carefully designed threads and analogy. It touches me deeply when meeing LuLu again. She personifies the persistence in following one's own heart and love; while the main male character moaning about wrong timing, forever lost and empty memory.
BTW, it treats LuLu right for Wong to admit in the narrative of this movie that she is in fact the main character in her story, "Days of Being Wild", in which she was just outshone by the all too brilliant Maggie Cheung.
