Review of 2046 (2004) by Jer M — 01 Sep 2009
Wong Kar-Wai is probably best known for writing the "Pat" sketches on Saturday Night Live, but here he makes his feature film debut with a sumptuous piece of visual poetry. The visuals carry the story, illustrating the inner life of characters who do not say what they mean and are afraid of their own feelings.
Hypnotic and memerizing, if a bit flawed.
