Review of 2046 (2004) by Ela T — 07 Feb 2012
Having not yet seen In the Mood for Love or any of Wong Kar-Wai's work, I must say I'm impressed. Taking a different look on love and it's emotion, 2046 is slow to start and fast to finish but with an excitement and pace to keep anyone interested.
With its jumps from reality to fiction and its ties between Chows real love life, and his incorporations into his story 2046, it has an artistic and almost surrealist approach, yet still stays perfectly grounded.
The amazing asymetrical focus on its camera work, and its beautiful score add highly to its emotional content and set 2046 in a unique, well made and fabulous category.
