Review of 2046 (2004) by Kevin W — 20 Jun 2014
Perhaps the biggest cast you could get at the time in Asia, as well as one of the most iconic director in the world, Wong Kar-Wai. Visually perfect as always, coupled with memorable characters, 2046 is unmistakably a Wong film.
Perhaps only he could get these actors and actresses to star in 2-bit roles. Like other of Wong's films, what the story lacks, the film compensates itself with amazing atmosphere. I probably won't remember anything about the film's story, but I will definitely remember the characters and settings designs.
However, I am not a fan of the setting of the 2046 world, it feels too superfluous but perhaps it is because of the lacking in technology.
