Review of 2036 Origin Unknown (2018) by Truerock — 09 Aug 2019
So, lots of individuals have posited concepts of human consciousness versus artificially intelligent computers... a typical college dorm room discussion. This movie assumes they are interchangeable - which most people would tend to disagree.
So does that mean that this movie is conceptually irrelevant? Perhaps not - given that this is probably an issue that humans will face some day - even if the movie doesn't approach the basic issue of human consciousness.
There will probably be a lot of individuals who will not have the patience, attention span or ability to follow the plot. So, this movie is definitely not for everyone - especially for individuals who want all movies to have a ending that concisely and completely resolves all plot points in a happy, upbeat way. You are not going to resolve the understanding of human consciousness - ever - and definitely not in a 90 minute movie.
So the technicals: acting, editing, directing, etc were all good and above average, professional quality. If you are a fan of Kathryn Ann Sackhoff (Lieutenant Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the Sci Fi Channel's television program Battlestar Galactica) then you will definitely want to see this movie.
