Review of 2016: Obama's America (2012) by Douglas K — 28 Sep 2012
This movie was interesting mostly because it challenged how much I really know about Obama's background. Laden with anti-colonialism and collectivism refeences, this movie tries to speak to how an absent father impacted the life of our current president. It speaks to not only Barack's disillusionment , but clearly that of his mother's vision also. So many extreme radicals to the left of center seem to have formed his thinking that, I wonder how many of us know who he really is and what he stood for when in 2004, we chanted with him for CHANGE. This movie seeks to expose the true agenda of Obama and his founding "fathers". Having watched now, I feel duped. But I am careful not to take all as truth. I am not afraid of a world that is not led by the US. I fear what the world led by a mindset that I may not support will look like and how blindly we gladly march towards that semi-hidden agenda.
This movie asks us to consider Obama's affiliation with known communists and also anti American supporters as he tries to change the status of America in power. This work suggests that he does it by putting us in more debt than ever so that we cannot support ourselves and give at any bargaining table but rather experience what the nations we robbed can relate to. While not questioning his birth place, his immigrant background makes him much less of any other indigenous black American. Having watched this documentary, I have more questions and more fears. The undoing of America is an inside job as we are being dismantled and exposed defenseless to any other countries that may not mean well for us. While I want to ensure was is not our sole focus, we cannot afford naivety and ultimately operate from any random point at all. We must operate from a point of power to help secure peace for everyone.
