Review of 2016: Obama's America (2012) by Mitch A — 22 Sep 2012
The film starts off rather slowly establishing similarities between the backgrounds of Obama and D'Sousa. Given the subject matter, it unsurprisingly plods along delving into the experiences that shaped the man's thinking.
Ralther than taking the polemical approach characteristic of Michael Moore, D'Sousa approaches his subject matter in the analytical style of a scholar, citing the narrative dialogs of the authority figures that informs Obama's thinking.
In doing so, it puts Obama's core beliefs and philosophy in a historical framework. The suitability of the framework can be argued, but propaganda is the last word I'd use to describe this film.
