I come from a Chicago Democratic Machine family dating back to Anton Cermak. We have ward heelers and precinct captains. There is nothing in this movie that the Machine didn't know when they put him in to the Senate.
Alexis de Toqueville: "The people in a democracy get the government they deserve." In other words, this is your guy. Live with it and stop complaining.
