Review of 2012 (2009) by Angelina C — 10 Oct 2012
The movie was so long, I thought by the time I get out of the theatre, it will be 2012. A bewildering two hours and forty minutes!!! Yes, it does deliver loads of actions, a CGI extravaganza. This is the perfect choice to spend your valuable time if one is into all those amazing CGI, with great shots of tidal waves the size of Mt. Everest, spectacular earth quakes that swallowed California whole and citizens are devoured up in huge cavernous cracks in the Earth's surface. Undoubtedly scores very high on technical and graphical terms however story wise it does falls short on character development, in my opinion.
TRIVIA: In an interview by USA Today, Roland Emmerich has stated that this will be his final disaster film: "I said to myself that I'll do one more disaster movie, but it has to end all disaster movies. So I packed everything in.".
