It gets 2.5 for effects because they were awesome and 0.5 for the rest. There was little character development, little plot, and bad dialogue. This was a plethora of disaster movies all in one, it couldn't figure out which one to stick with so we had Armageddon, Deep Impact, Volcano, and The Day After Tomorrow.
It got to be a little too much and I found my mind wandering as it was also way too long. However, as I said, incredible effects which is all you want to see in this type of film.
