To be honest I found 2012 to be a very lame movie, I mean true its does provide its special effects but it really lacks around everything else. The movie has a director whom from my point of view is not very talented, the cast could have been so much better, and the story was mostly crap.
The thing that really gives this movie the credit that it got is the special effects as it does for most movies. The waves look realistic and the city being destroyed looked like a big wow senario. They are definitely an A+ in my book.
I felt that no real emotion came from any of the actors, infact all of the acting was crap. I know that John Cusack is said to be an excellent actor and all that, but his character was very anoying in the film. To stay on the subject all of the characters were very anoying and boring to say the least.
Roland Emmerich is an okay film director, I mean he has had his good and bad movie, but this points more to the bad side. I know why he gets all of this money to make these movies, because he makes box office hits, but still I don't believe that he allways deserves to.
Plus where does the story come from, keeping it all a secret till the last minute, if I were the government I would warn every one so that we could save more lives. But then again it does show how corrupt it can be.
Overall its $200 million not well spent despite that fact that it got its money back.
