SUMMARY: A struggling writer tries to save his family in a race against time and the mayan prediction of the apocalypse on December 21, 2012. REVIEW: I'm starting to get bored with the end of the world movies.

There's just to many of them and though the special effects are good here at times thats pretty much all it is is a special effects extravaganza trying to cash in on a false prophecy. I'm even gonna go as far as to say there are times in the movie where they over do it.

I might just not believe what I see is going to happen as to also say it is way too far fetched at times as well. It was a good attempt and had plenty of great actors to make the movie succeed but it just doesn't.

I'm just not a big fan of these movies and this one did not help my opinion of them. I would not skip it entirely because I wanted to see it out of curiosity and thought it was worth one watch to see what it was like and to be able to say I watched it.
