There was no doubt that we would eventually see a movie about the world ending due to the Mayans lake of paper to make a calendar with, and it's no surprise the movie ended up like this. With so many characters and the focus being the world ending there is very little backstory for any of the characters, so they are all dull and interesting, not to mention the poor acting and weak script to back them up.

I guess the main thing to talk about hear is just the effects, as it has more CGI destruction and chaos than a Michael Bay movie, and also not even CGI to match his. It's a mess of things falling and massive cracks forming in the ground, fire and tidal waves, planes and debris.

It doesn't even look visually impressive, it's too much and not in a realistic sort of way. Not only that but they way they escape it all on clasping airfields or in cars as the world destroys all the ground that they were driving on seconds ago and them always getting away is too far dumb, action hero style that is an instant turn-off.

The massive arks would have taken decades to make, as planning and production would have taken far longer than when scientist first discovered the end of the world to when it happened, plus how they launched them and where they built them is amazingly dumb, I didn't know people would actually think of that to save lives.

Then the cord jamming the door, and our hero unjamming it to save everyone on board underwater is just, that. Such a bad movie, makes no sense, looks bad, sounds bad, is bad, and there's 2 and a half hour of it.

It's painful to think of how much money they must if lost in this pile of garbage.
