Review of 2012 (2009) by Spencer D — 19 Dec 2015

You've already seen this film, whether you've actually sat down and watched 2012 or not, as the movie plays out like every other apocalyptic film out there.

There is an outcast scientist who discovers the world is coming to an end, but apparently can't make accurate predictions to enable dramatic moments. There is the issue of every man for themselves vs. saving everyone. There is the divorced man who through the trials of surviving this apocalypse rekindles his relationship with his ex and children. I'd list more, but I think I've made my point and I don't want to "spoil" other points of the story.

Fact is, 2012 will entertain you, though how much I don't know, as I had the benefit of watching it with company. So if you're thinking about renting it, I'd say it's worth a $1 rental fee from a Red Box, but I probably wouldn't pay $8 to see it in theaters, and I definately wouldn't pay $20 to buy the DVD, because as I've said before, I've seen this film too many times, though I've actually only seen it once.

I rate 2012 a 4/10, placing it in the bottom 15% of movies I've seen.
