This is basically Lord of the Rings, only instead of 3 hours of 3 trilogies of the fellowship walking to the volcano it's almost 3 hours of people walking to a boat. Another hilarious oversight is when overflying Hawaii they suddenly (or Earth does) shifts 5000 miles in the space of 5 minutes and are then over mid-Russia or some godforesaken glacier in the middle of Asia.
How this oversight was missed is beyond me but it just goes to show the shoddy plot line the movie exhibits consistently. There are much better 'end of the world' movies out there without morality aspects being thrust in the viewers face.
