Review of 2012 (2009) by Kevin G — 26 Jul 2015
Okay People here we go, breathe in. 2012 is a disaster movie, but it is NOT a disaster of a movie. Will any of this actually happen, only time will tell but it gives the believers, and the doubters and idea of what will happen and what can be done.
John Cusack once again carries a film as he is one of the few the can take a potentially bad movie and make it good (i.e. 1408). He plays an academic researcher who leads a group of people in a fight to counteract the apocalyptic events that were predicted by the ancient Mayan calendar.
The movie starts a little slow and picks up about 45 minutes in when the action starts, from that point, this is an intense action packed ride. The story is not that interesting but no one in the world is going to see this movie for the story anyways, they're gonna go for the action, which there is plenty of.
Now you see, I myself am one of the doubters that this is actually going to happen, and even if it does, I think it will not be to the extreme as the movie entails, but if you want 2 1/2 hours of pure adrenaline, don't hesitate to catch this one, it is definitely worth the time and money.
Breathe out.
