A perfectly mindless sugar-rush succession of special effects, one ridiculous narrow escape after another, just like a children's cartoon. Until the truly dreadful wordy dialogue on the brink of the final disaster climax.
That's when it collapses from a better than average bad disaster movie, to the normal dire bilge and stupidity you expect.
