Makes the The Day After Tommorrow look like an oscar contender. Ludicrously stupid, overlong, overblown idiocy. The effects look fantastic.... until you put the actors infront of them, looking almost super imposed, like a spoof of oooold B Movies.
.. and then it hit me: this is a comedy!! Once you've seen two planes chased off a runway by crack in the earth, and then a limo outrun one through heavy traffic, all making it within a billionthe of a milimeter, then missing toppling everything.
...you'll agree.. Oh and planes can still fly when engulfed by pyroclastic flows from a supervolcano by the way...and a family are quite happy to have marital breakup woes while the STATE that they are in is being swallowed up by the earth.
The sheer sillyness of the spectacle is the only fun here...
