Review of 2010 (1984) by David S — 24 Sep 2007

First off, lemme say that this is the most unneeded film in sequel-dom. Secondly, this film is amazing. The difference between 2001 and 2010 is massive. To loosely compare the two, it's about equivalent to the difference between Alien and Aliens.

2001 is a very personal artistic vision while 2010 is more of a mainstream Hollywood film. With that said, 2010 stands alone as a fantastic film and if you've seen 2001, it gives you more in depth explanations of went on/happened.

Not that 2001 really needed it, mind you. Great performances, fantastic script and a stellar cast give this film the accreditation to be a sci-fi masterpiece.
