Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Matthew K — 22 May 2018
An absolute classic.
This film is so mesmerising with regards to special effects (different exclusive models used throughout), relatively little dialogue (but does has some great quotes), use of classical tunes like 'The Blue Danube', the characters involved (particularly HAL 9000) and above all, the seemingly complex storyline devised so well by Kubrick and Clarke.
I personally find this masterpiece to be unwinding and for a sci-fi film released before 'Star Wars' and 'Alien' were thought of; it definitely has a 'wow' factor to it; which is why I name this as my number one favourite film of all time.
