Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Sinisteris T — 18 Dec 2014
Spectacular. 10.0/10. A+. Awesomely awesometastic.
2001's perfect visuals effects decades ahead of its time, direction so crisp, clean, and perfect that the pacing is extraordinary, and cinematography almost as revolutionary as its visual effects cement it as a space opera, but the brilliant and magnificent scripting along with other highly-attentive to detail small things in the execution catapult it further, and the numerous underlying themes also decades ahead of its time told through brilliant visual metaphors and other subtle ways decades ahead of its time gloss over it and shows its true colors as an overall meditation of the both the ingenuity and folly of mankind; a poetic masterpiece that is among the best films every made, with deep and highly detailed themes and messages.
