Review of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) by Todd S — 16 Jun 2007
[font=Times New Roman][size=4]A classic that holds up well. I didn't like the "musical" part of it (thankfully it was brief) - why do these 1950's movies think they need music? Anyways, I thought Kirk Douglas's character was too silly but the special effects were remarkably well done considering the age of the movie.
Also, Nemo wasn't half as "evil" as I had assumed he was. He actually seemed to be on a half-dose of Prozac. As with all "older" movies, the pace was at times a tad slow but overall held my interest.
