Review of 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957) by Daniel K — 19 Dec 2007
Growing up I remember watching black and white Sci-Fi movies. If you are fan of the original stop motion photography (exceptional in this film) and appreciate the education level of a typical movie goer in the 1950â??s, then this DVD is must rent for you.
When watching the creature I am always amazed out how its movements appear human and you really feel that if no one hurt it that it would have been a gentle giant. The influence of King Kong is heavily evident in this movie, however it can stand on its own and be judged as a good Sci-Fi flick for the late 1950â??s.
This DVD contains two interesting extras: A piece on Ray Harryhausen which explains why this movie was filmed in Italy and Dynamation Featurette. Rarely do I find the extras worth while; however I found them very insightful in this DVD.
