Ray Harryhausenâ??s King Kong-like tale lives and dies on the stop-motion wonder of the alien beastie, The Ymir. The actors and the plot are basic, but the beauty of the Ymir and his final rampage through Rome (all elephants and Coliseums beware!) are well worth the price of admission.
And there is yet another fantastic Bernard Herrmann score. VF.
